Our editorial internship is designed for aspiring journalists, bloggers, music writers and digital media professionals who want to develop a professional portfolio while learning how an independent online publication operates.
Interns may contribute hip-hop news, artist features, interviews, album coverage, historical stories, opinion pieces and other original editorial content published on Raptology.

Research and write accurate, timely stories covering artists, releases, announcements, industry developments and important moments in rap culture.
Artist Features
Develop engaging profiles about established artists, independent talent, producers, executives and other members of the hip-hop community.
Interviews
Assist with interview research, question development, transcription, editing and the preparation of professional artist Q&A articles.
Music Coverage
Write about new singles, albums, mixtapes, EPs and music videos without relying on generic or exaggerated promotional language.
Evergreen Content
Create artist biographies, producer profiles, hip-hop history articles, career retrospectives and searchable reference content.
Digital Publishing
Format articles in WordPress, add approved media, improve readability, apply SEO practices and prepare stories for editorial review.

Minimum Requirements
- Strong written English, grammar, spelling and punctuation skills
- Genuine knowledge of and passion for hip-hop and rap culture
- Ability to research artists, events and music-industry topics accurately
- Ability to distinguish verified information from rumors and speculation
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow editorial instructions
- Ability to meet agreed deadlines consistently
- Professional communication and responsiveness
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Reliable computer and internet access
- Commitment to submitting original, plagiarism-free work
Preferred Skills
- Experience publishing or formatting articles in WordPress
- Familiarity with the WordPress Classic Editor or block editor
- Basic understanding of on-page SEO and keyword placement
- Experience using Google Docs and cloud-based collaboration tools
- Familiarity with journalistic writing or AP Style principles
- Previous blogging, school newspaper or freelance writing experience
- Basic image editing skills using Canva, Photoshop or similar software
- Understanding of attribution, fair use and responsible media sourcing
- Knowledge of current artists, regional scenes and music-industry trends
- Familiarity with Instagram, X, TikTok, YouTube and Spotify embeds
