What up gang.
Back with the real you know what’s the deal. These dudes in Memphis are trying to give 50 cent competition with how many times they can shoot an opp. Bullets have been raining down like a hailstorm due to the beef between Memphis rappers, Young Dolph and Yo Gotti, leaving one in critical condition in the hospital.

This feud is a beef beef for real. Disloyalty, disrespect, and attempted assassinations, just how the hell did things get so heated between the two? Well you know yah boy got you. Let’s chop it up and break down the deadly street beef between Young Dolph and Yo Gotti.
Many times, rap beef is just that, rap beef. But hip hop history shows the aftermath of when rap beef turns into street beef, most notably the one between Big and Pac that took two legends in the game away from us.
Yo Gotti has been in the game for a minute and has his street cred due to his lifestyle of violence in the streets https://youtu.be/HWDvGtbEmIE (2:15-2:32)
The hood mentality became an addiction to Gotti. At one point that life was all he knew, trapping, banging, and dealing https://youtu.be/3NxZbOS4g6U (9:21-9:46) But when everyone around him was either dead or getting hemmed up in jail, he was faced with a choice, stay in the streets, or turn to rap to break his love for hood shenanigans https://youtu.be/3NxZbOS4g6U (8:50-9:13) Luckily he chose music and came up to be one of the biggest bosses in the game. From hit records like “Down In The DM” https://youtu.be/YXSpXO4N-tI to “Rake It Up” featuring iconic female artist Nicki Minaj https://youtu.be/OrSadmwmmAs
Yo Gotti climbed the charts and now has a successful record label CMG (Collective Music Group) with hot mainstream artists like Moneybagg Yo and Blac Youngsta
Young Dolph on the other hand came up after Yo Gotti but with a similar background in the streets https://youtu.be/UdcOGSOnEDM (3:56-4:07)
Truth is, Dolph never even had intentions of becoming as big a rapper as he is. Matter fact, he didn’t even want to be rapping from the get go, but he messed around and dropped a couple tracks and things took off. As a hustler, the smart move was to follow the money, so his career became reality https://youtu.be/WnaN3eiRjvk (4:13-4:50). From there Dolph went up, featuring on OT Genasis viral single “Cut It” https://youtu.be/qMwcsIY1GYE and hit singles of his own like “Crashin Out” https://youtu.be/twyHGFUN2b0 and “100 Shots” inspired by real life events we’ll get into later https://youtu.be/LN66A9bCF_U Like Yo Gotti, Dolph used his fame to go the Boss route, launching a record label of his own, PRE (Paper Route Empire) with artists like Key Glock and Jay Fizzle
Two Bosses, Gotti and Dolph. Both making bank and becoming Memphis legends in the game. But, it seems the old statement remains true, more money more problems https://youtu.be/6_U7-E8Gq5Y (2:56-3:00) Somehow the two got tied into a rap feud that has sparked into the streets and many speculations have gone around of how the beef even got started. At first, fans believed it was due to Young Dolph claiming to be the King of Memphis https://youtu.be/92qEqaZrW9I (1:52-1:57) which was backed up even more with his 2016 mixtape release of the same title
At a live performance Yo Gotti further alluded to this falling out as he told the crowd “Another lil dude told me that another lil dude said he was the King of Memphis, I was like homie what” https://youtu.be/g62oGYRUecE (2:15-2:24) Slowly, the beef began to leak to the surface through records. Gotti sent the subliminal diss through tracks like “Can’t Do It” featuring his artist Moneybagg Yo https://youtu.be/DPSsxEVDchY (1:39-1:50) Which seemed to speak on Young Dolph doing earlier interviews stating that he declined signing to CMG https://youtu.be/j9H8ydcd36c (9:33-10:00)
According to Dolph, the subliminal disses to him in Gotti’s mixtapes is what caused him to react because he was ignoring Gotti at first https://youtu.be/6OdGwqd8L6Y (2:58-3:46) From Dolph’s point of view, Yo Gotti uses dissing to create buzz for himself and his artists and accused Gotti of doing the same with Memphis legends 3 6 Mafia to get his career off the ground https://youtu.be/6OdGwqd8L6Y (5:07-5:45) https://youtu.be/GqgpGiO_I98 (0:18-0:33)
The beef in question saw both Gotti and 3 6 Mafia trading disses to each other https://youtu.be/Bm6t9kg9P40 https://youtu.be/SEB5VSTm5wk
Young Dolph, being tired of letting Yo Gotti slide with the sneak dissing called him out for going from his #1 fan to his biggest hater and released one of he most disrespectful disses taking shots at Gotti’s pride.
The track was titled “Play With Yo Bitch” https://youtu.be/N8Js00gAZY0 and was inspired by the true story of him being in Yo Gotti’s baby moms guts.
In the video Dolph went as far as getting an actor to play Gotti. But he took the disrespect even further and made the track cover art a screenshot of missed calls from a contact on his phone nicknamed “Ho’ Gotti Baby Moma.”
To add insult to injury, the track went gold.
It’s no wonder things got so violent later on. Young Dolph would finally make it known in an interview with The Breakfast Club why it was up with Yo Gotti, and it definitely goes deeper than just who is the King of Memphis. Dolph’s main issue was not being able to respect Gotti. After their first meeting, Dolp claims Gotti threw his CMG artists Zed Zilla
And Starlito
under the bus to try persuade him up into signing. That plan backfired and instead showed Dolph that Gotti ain’t solid and couldn’t be respected https://youtu.be/UdcOGSOnEDM (29:00-3:24) Yo Gotti’s artist, Blac Youngsta stepped into the ring backing his label boss and if you know Blac Youngsta you know that’s not anything good. Youngsta stated that Dolph dissed him on Trouble’s “Ready (Remix)” Feat. Young Thug, Young Dolph & Big Bank Black https://youtu.be/iX34S53M4a0 And that was the last straw. It was smoke and soon there’d be fire. Blac Youngsta hit back with his own diss https://youtu.be/S0Es4RfxQ9o (1:50-2:50) but escalating the situation further pulling up to Dolph’s hood strapped up with his homies ready to put Dolph in the ground https://youtu.be/bsPkSKjRM7I (0:00-1:14) https://youtu.be/10L1aoNYKfQ
The diss record “SHAKE SUM” even featured scenes from him in Dolph’s hood https://youtu.be/vBAtJwvsdsE Blac Youngsta was on demon time and let it be known at every occasion that it was up when he catches Dolph https://youtu.be/OLG3WSERTVM Dolph wasn’t really on him like that, more giving his attention to Yo Gotti for having his artist fighting his battles for him after sneak dissing and hiding for so long https://youtu.be/GqgpGiO_I98 (0:04-0:18) https://www.instagram.com/p/BDCVDd4y2Oy/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
In Public Yo Gotti kept it chill, bringing evidence of text messages sent to Dolph years back, stating that Dolph is hating because he didn’t hop on his track when he asked for a feature. https://youtu.be/_JinZ-SH11w (13:35-14:57) Dolph got word of his interview and addressed it after in another interview https://youtu.be/UdcOGSOnEDM (23:46-24:35) Dolph also called cap on Gotti saying he asked for a feature and says Gotti is the one wanting to hop on his track https://youtu.be/UdcOGSOnEDM (26:28-26:52) The amount of history between the two began to surface and the tension kept rising. Blac Youngsta would issue a final warning to Dolph about messing with his gang because he’ll be shot up. Not in a text message, not in a DM, but posted a video tagging Dolph online driving in the whip and bussing shots out into the air https://youtu.be/0a1wsErXA0s At this point the seriousness of the situation was kicking in for fans looking on. It was all cool everybody getting money and sprinkle a lil razzle dazzle with the beef, but this was real beef between two real street dudes.
What happened next was basically inevitable. On Saturday February 25th 2017, Dolph was in town for the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) tournament weekend when around 6:30 p.m., over 100 shots riddled Dolph’s black SUV at the intersection of 8th and North Caldwell Street near an apartment complex https://youtu.be/Jq-ctKjl2L0 Luckily no one was harmed thanks to Dolph’s bulletproof whip which he was not in at the time either https://youtu.be/ezHxws-0z34 (1:27-1:40)
I don’t know what’s crazier, the amount of shots being sent to his whip, or the fact that Dolph performed like normal after the shooting, that same night, right in Charlotte’s Cameo Night Club. Call it what you want, but Dolph was standing on what he said he lived, even laughing at the situation the next day
https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/hip-hop/7702215/young-dolph-shooting-charlotte
I get that dudes don’t want to show weakness, but at that point it should be time to dead the beef and adjust your lifestyle. No point making it out the hood to die by trying to still be hood, you know. But, rappers seem to have a hard time letting go of that lifestyle.
In an interview Dolph addressed the attempted hit, taunting his opps and giving credit to his street mentality and past, to making him invest in having his whip bulletproof and moving carefully https://youtu.be/6_U7-E8Gq5Y (1:45-2:55) Gotti on the other hand also had things to say, denying he had any involvement in the situation, saying there’s nothing between him and Dolph https://youtu.be/3NxZbOS4g6U (10:40-11:50) But the police had something different to say about that. Warrants were issued for Blac Youngsta and 2 of his homies in connection to the attempted assassination of Dolph https://youtu.be/EDZxTp8GB98 (0:12-0:34) https://youtu.be/xbVQmdZUsoI (0:11-1:08) https://youtu.be/5xijFHlHBSc
Dolph would further taunt his opps, releasing the project “Bulletproof” with the track listing spelling out “100 shots in Charlotte but I’m bulletproof so fuk’em that’s how I feel I’m so real I pray for my enemies I’m everything you wanna be so that’s why you envy smh.”
I mean, Dolph is a modern-day poet to come up with some creative idea like that. While Dolph was back to living life, Blac Yougsta was fighting for his in the system, releasing the track “Bulletproof” speaking on the situation https://youtu.be/dPkRgz3kEKs
Blac Youngsta would dodge a bullet, pun intended, when the 6 felony counts of discharging a weapon into occupied property and 1 count of conspiracy were dropped due to lack of evidence and his airtight alibi.

From an interview with Tim Westwood, Yo Gotti appeared to have talked to Blac Youngsta about how he’s going about trying to get Dolph got, and Blac seemed to have a different perspective and kept away from the beef to focus on money https://youtu.be/licj6usb9fo (1:06-2:05) https://youtu.be/XPiNI9t4SdY (0:40-1:55) https://youtu.be/S0Es4RfxQ9o (3:42-5:51)
Everything appeared to die down and everyone was bout their paper, but after dodging death in the failed hit, they caught Dolph lacking in Hollywood, Los Angeles, leaving him in critical condition requiring emergency surgery https://youtu.be/L2NC1eMO0W8
Reports state that the shooting took place in the valet parking area of the Loews Hollywood hotel, after an argument with three men escalated to a fight where Young Dolph was knocked to the ground then the suspects pulled out a handgun and began shooting at him. https://youtu.be/ezHxws-0z34
Things looked serious for Dolph, but he miraculously survived and was in stable condition after surgery https://youtu.be/0fJ2LLyaUrM (1:03-1:37)
https://www.theguardian.com/music/2017/sep/27/rapper-young-dolph-shot-yo-gotti-person-of-interest-la
Initially, police detained one man, with the two others at large after A gold Cadillac Escalade belonging to one of the men was found abandoned a block away from the hotel https://youtu.be/phO9Zk3zfNU Two others were also arrested but released https://youtu.be/ezHxws-0z34 (2:05-2:19)
Since then, the beef seemed to have become hush, but it looked the same way before and look how downhill things went. The most we can do is hope Dolph and Gotti just focus on money. They were once cool, would be nice for them to end their issues and lift Memphis up again
https://youtu.be/ly5FAAZb4U0 (7:53-8:30)
So there you have it. Thanks for kicking it with yah boy, appreciate the love and support. Catch ya’ll in the next one. Peace up and peace out.
