BROOKLYN STAND UP: DANTE BLAK POISED FOR THE THRONE

Music comes from the heart; that’s why the first sound ever heard is the heartbeat.

Dante Blak is on the verge of joining a long line of rap icons coming out of the hip-hop central of New York. Dante’s future on hip-hop’s pedestal was long decided. Since a toddler, he had a passion for singing. The years would pass, and his love would grow even deeper, but with the loss of his grandmother, Dante Blak stepped away from music for about a decade. But, his calling to music was too strong to abandon forever. In 2007 Dante began making music on a consistent basis with the influence and inspiration of legendary musicians like Lauryn Hill, Nas, Sting, Michael Jackson and Sade.

With Brooklyn’s history of notable hip-hop figures and pioneers like Fabolous, Lil Kim, Ol’ Dirty Bastard (Rip), MC Lyte, Jay Z and Big Daddy Kane, Dante Blak has a tough act to follow. While many would fear not amounting to the standard set, Dante Blak uses it as motivation to his craft. When it comes to rap, Dante is one of its potential leaders coming for the crown. His music holds value and worth, not just scattered lyrics over beats. His music speaks to more than the ear but enters like a drop in the water that ripples throughout his listeners. This is in part to his creative process. It can be a bit obscure, but that’s how it’s meant to be. It’s unique to him and is the reason for the gems he drops. A record may come to him all at once, but most times, lines click off either with a single word or bar by bar. He listens to beats in different environments to study their composition sonically. He is a true artist, incorporating a lost art in hip-hop’s landscape, bringing live musicians to record tracks rather than replacing them with midi.

Dante has more than what it takes to make it in the rap game with a solid team that compliments his weaknesses and shares his vision. Surrounded by producers and musicians, Dante manages his career path along with assistance from trusted connections like his brother Vimarry who is also blazing his trail in hip-hop. They both recently collaborated on a single “In The Mode” that is both infectious and riddled with lyrical acrobatics and flows. Dante is following up with some more heat. His latest release titled “PANIK BUTTON” is his first solo single produced by Tone Jonez and is available on every platform. It’s sound reflects Dante’s love and passion for music, echoing his talent and versatility over a beat.

Dante Blak’s start in the rap race is off on a good foot. What he’s shown thus far, has proven to be the traits of an artist that can make it to the top beside his hood’s legends. His legacy is all but certain, but the one he wishes to leave is more than just being a rap star. Dante aims to use his music and collaborations to give people something they didn’t have before listening his art. His intention as an artist is to make music that can uplift, empathize, and teach his children and the coming generation. Don’t be left out of his creative work and fire music.
