Central Cee and Sexyy Red’s collaboration, “GUILT TRIPPIN,” is the result of a connection made while both rappers were opening acts on Drake’s 2023 “It’s All A Blur Tour.” Central Cee, known for his UK drill sound, and Sexyy Red, with her Southern rap roots, first met during different parts of the tour—Cee performed earlier in the run, while Sexyy Red joined toward the end. In a recent interview, Central Cee credited Drake as the reason the two linked up, saying, “Big up, Drake. That’s how I met her. That’s where we made the link. I had the song. I sent her the song and then, yeah, the rest was it”.
Their single, released in June 2025, blends Cee’s introspective UK style with Sexyy Red’s brash American flair. The sound is a unique mix of UK drill, Southern rap, and amapiano influences, paired with a lavish music video set in Miami featuring the pair partying on a yacht and in nightclubs. The release was highly anticipated after Sexyy Red made a surprise appearance at Central Cee’s sold-out performance at London’s O2 Arena earlier in the year, further fueling excitement for the transatlantic partnership.
The “It’s All A Blur Tour” also facilitated another major collaboration: Central Cee’s introduction to J. Cole, which eventually led to the track “H.Y.B.” with Cole and Bas. Central Cee acknowledged Drake’s role as a “playmaker” in facilitating these creative connections, stating, “Drake connected a good few dots, so thanks to him”.
