Bryson Tiller Addresses Mixed Reactions to His Self-Titled Album: “Not Gon’ Like Every Song”

Bryson Tiller’s highly anticipated self-titled studio album is set to be released on Friday, April 5, and will feature 19 tracks with guest appearances from Victoria Monét and Clara La San. In an interview with Billboard, Tiller discussed how the album differs from his previous releases and warned listeners that not everyone will like every song.

“There are people who despise ‘Whatever She Wants.’ They’re like, ‘I don’t wanna hear him do this. I want to hear him do that.’ I got music for everybody on here. I got a song on here that I really love, but I feel like some people might only like that song compared to the other songs,” Tiller said.

The R&B singer also mentioned that he made a conscious effort to include a song with no Auto-Tune on the album, stating, “I made one song on the album I was like, ‘This is my self-titled album, I have to try a song with no Auto-Tune.'”

Pre-release singles “CALYPSO” and “Outside” are confirmed to be on the LP, as well as “Whatever She Wants,” which originally appeared on Tiller’s rap-centric mixtape series, Slum Tiller. The record’s visual companion has nearly 10 million views on YouTube.

Tiller’s upcoming album follows his 2020 release, A N N I V E R S A R Y, which included hits like “Outta Time” with Drake, “Years Go By,” and “Inhale.”

The Bryson Tiller Tour is set to begin on May 11 in Portland, Oregon, and will make stops in major cities like Chicago, Toronto, Boston, Charlotte, Atlanta, Houston, and Nashville, before concluding on September 21 in Puyallup, Washington.
