Rick Ross Says Drake Joint Album ‘Under Serious Consideration’

A Rick Ross and Drake joint album could actually see the light of day.

After rumors surfaced last month, Ross is addressing the prospect of a collaborative effort with Champagne Papi. Speaking with Atlanta’s Streetz 94.5, Rozay said a joint album remains on the table.

“After our latest release, ‘Lemon Pepper Freestyle,’ we had that conversation and it’s most definitely under serious consideration. Real talk,” he revealed.

Last month, Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson fueled speculation of a joint effort between the MMG boss and OVO mogul when he was asked to share his favorite Drake and Ross collaboration. The former NFL star raised eyebrows by claiming that the duo had a joint project in the works.

“The joint album they’re doing together with unseat all projects they’ve done to date,” tweeted Johnson.

This would not be the first time Ross and Drake have talked about doing a joint project. Back in 2011, the two were said to be working on their YOLO Tape, but nothing ever materialized.

When asked by Complex last year, Ross didn’t rule out a future project with Drizzy. “You never know what could happen in the future, but me and Drake, him being in Miami at that time [in 2011-2012], and him coming by the crib every day, we were spending a lot of time together,” he said. “And it was a serious possibility. We weren’t just talking shit. We really were in the studio a lot. It’s just not the same no more. Meaning, the way he travels and the way I move. But is it a possibility? There’s always a possibility for that because it would be simple for us.”

The two have a history of collaborations dating back over a decade ago, including “Aston Martin Music,” “I’m on One,” “Gold Roses,” “Money in the Grave,” and “Diced Pineapples.” Their latest, “Lemon Pepper Freestyle,” peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
