Kanye West’s Ex-Bodyguard Working on ‘Explosive’ Documentary

An “explosive” documentary about Kanye West is in the works.

The rapper’s former bodyguard Steve Stanulis says he’s developing a project, described as a “real-life ’48 Hours,’” based on his untold experiences with West.

“Two studios approached me,” Stanulis told Page Six. “They see this as a ’48 Hours’ for real or a Lethal Weapon for real. It comes from my mouth, I worked with [West] two separate times.”

Stanulis, a former NYPD officer and Chippendales dancer who worked with West in 2016, was around during his infamous “Saturday Night Live” meltdown, plus events such as New York Fashion Week and the Met Gala. He promises that the 80-minute documentary(explosive), which could start shooting as soon as next month, will capture the behind-the-scenes drama of working with one of the world’s biggest stars.

“Every day was a new adventure,” he said. “There are a ton of stories I haven’t told.”

Stanulis has had a contentious relationship with West. In 2016, he slammed the Yeezy mogul in an interview with a U.K. newspaper, prompting West to threaten him with a $30 million lawsuit, claiming Stanulis had signed a confidentiality agreement, which Stanulis disputes. Last year, West threatened Stanulis with a $10 million lawsuit after he called him the “neediest, moodiest, and worst tipper” of any of his clients.

“It starts off with $30 million lawsuit, and works backwards, with all the craziness. Why not address the elephant in the room?” said Stanulis. “They threatened to sue me two separate times — once back in the day, and then on a podcast this year. It went viral, and they threatened to sue me again for $10 million, and my attorney countered and it just went away.”

Stanulis, who hasn’t worked security in years, claims he’s tried to move on, but he’s always asked about his relationship with West. “This way nobody has to ask me about this ever again. I swear to you — no matter what I do… somewhere along the line [the job with West] comes up.” He hopes the film will answer any remaining questions. “Nothing left to be said. I’m saying it all.”
