JAY-Z unveils the star-studded soundtrack to The Harder They Fall.
The 14-track companion to the Jeymes Samuel-directed film features powerhouse collaborations from JAY-Z and Kid Cudi on “Guns Go Bang.” Hov also joins Jadakiss, Conway the Machine, and BackRoad Gee on “King Kong Riddim,” while Ms. Lauryn Hill can be heard alongside Fatoumata Diawara on “Black Woman.” Other contributors include CeeLo Green, Seal, Koffee, and Barrington Levy.
“We just love to bend things and play with the music and put sound beds over things that people don’t think is typical,” JAY-Z told “ET” of the creative process. “It makes total sense to us, but the average listener is like, ‘Wait, those two things don’t go together.’ But they totally do.”
Produced by JAY-Z and James Lassiter, The Harder They Fall follows an epic rivalry between Black cowboys, with an all-star cast including Regina King, Idris Elba, LaKeith Stanfield, Jonathan Majors, and more. It will be available Nov. 3 on Netflix.
