Elton John’s new album The Lockdown Sessions arrives today featuring appearances from Lil Nas X, 6LACK, and Stevie Wonder.
The star-studded set also includes a collaboration with Nicki Minaj and Young Thug, who join the 74-year-old icon on “Always Love You.”
Sir Elton kicks off the piano-driven track before the Punk rapper adds his super slimey flow. The Queen comes through with bars and vocals, which she previously teased.
“Once upon a time when we rolled out / But now, baby, oh no, you sold out,” Nicki raps on her melodic verse.
“I’ve admired Young Thug for a while and he sampled one of my songs on his track, ‘High,’ back in 2018 so it was great to collaborate again,” said Elton. “And then, I was so pleased when Nicki agreed to do it. I’m very grateful to have such talented artists from a totally different genre to me on this album and that they’ve included me.”
Recorded remotely over the last 18 months, The Lockdown Sessions also features the Dua Lipa-assisted hit “Cold Heart (PNAU Remix),” plus guest spots from Charlie Puth, Miley Cyrus, Stevie Nicks, and more.
