Live from New York, it’s Kim Kardashian West.
The billionaire beauty mogul made her highly-anticipated “Saturday Night Live” hosting debut last night. During her opening monologue, she poked fun at her famous family, including estranged husband Kanye West.
“I’ve been very blessed in this life, and I’m grateful for everything, honestly, all the ups, all the downs,” said Kim. “I mean, I married the best rapper of all time. Not only that, he’s the richest Black man in America, a talented, legit genius, who gave me four incredible kids.”
She continued, “So when I divorced him, you have to know it came down to just one thing: his personality. I know it sounds mean, but people keep telling me that comedy comes from truth. And if there’s one thing that I always strive to be, it’s genuine.”
She also brought up Kanye’s ill-fated presidential campaign, as well as her stepfather Caitlyn Jenner’s failed bid for California governor. “Now I know we’re divided as a country, but I’d love America to come together, which is why I’m here to announce that I’m running for,” she said, adding, “I’m just kidding, guys! I’m not running for president. We can’t have three failed politicians in one family.”
At the end of the show, she once again acknowledged Kanye, who was reportedly in the audience. “Thank you to Kanye and the rest of my family for being such good sports. I love you guys so much,” said Kim while standing alongside her mother Kris Jenner and sister Khloé Kardashian.
According to Page Six, the former couple “kept waving and making eyes at each other” throughout the night. Kanye also reportedly helped his estranged wife with her hosting duties ahead of her “SNL” debut.
The two sparked reconciliation rumors after they were recently spotted dining together in Malibu with friends amid their divorce.
