Serayah is embracing the joys of new motherhood, calling it the “greatest accomplishment” of her life and crediting her fiancé, Joey Bada$$, and her family for their unwavering support during this transformative chapter. On Monday, July 21, the actress and singer returned to Instagram for the first time since giving birth in June, sharing a heartfelt two-month postpartum update with fans in a post she captioned “Life Lately Dump.”
“Where do I begin? First, I want to thank everyone who’s reached out to me, congratulated me, and sent me love and support during this new chapter,” Serayah began. “My family showed up and showed out! [I don’t know] what I would do without them.” The post featured a series of heartfelt images, starting with a photo of her sitting on a couch surrounded by bouquets of flowers, followed by snapshots of gifts including a Rolex and a decorated cake.
Reflecting on her journey into motherhood, the “Empire” actress wrote, “I’m still shook, in total disbelief that I’m a mommy now.” She emphasized the overwhelming gratitude she feels, describing her new role as a mom as her proudest milestone to date. “I thank the most high, and I continue to pray over my growing family every day,” she added.
Joey Bada$$ made a warm appearance in the post as well. Serayah praised her fiancé for being her steady support system, writing, “My fiancé has held it down, you hear me! Through and through, that’s a good man, Savannah.” The statement was a nod to a popular line from the 1995 film Waiting to Exhale that has since become a viral TikTok sound.
Serayah concluded the post by acknowledging her recent absence on social media, explaining, “I know I haven’t been as present on socials, [but] I just been living, y’all. LOVE!” Her emotional update comes after fans watched her share her pregnancy journey earlier this year, including her surprise baby bump reveal at Adore Me’s New York Fashion Week show in February and a red carpet appearance with Joey Bada$$ at the Los Angeles premiere of Apple TV+’s Number One on the Call Sheet, where the couple spoke about Black love and preparing to welcome their child.
