Denzel Curry is set to make a major impact in 2025, announcing two new projects that highlight both his solo artistry and collaborative ambitions. The Florida rapper revealed he is working on a new solo album as well as Strictly For The Scythe, a joint release from his ULTRAGROUND Records in partnership with Philadelphia-based producer collective Working On Dying.
Curry confirmed the news on July 9, responding to a teaser from the NFR Podcast with a tweet reading, “Almost time,” followed by another post hinting that Strictly 4 Da Scythe is likely to drop first. Working On Dying, known for their production on tracks by Drake, Lil Uzi Vert, and Playboi Carti, will bring their signature sound to the collaborative project alongside Curry and his ULTRAGROUND team.
This announcement comes on the heels of Curry’s experimental 2024 release, KING OF THE MISCHIEVOUS SOUTH, which featured collaborations with TiaCorine, ASAP Ferg, Ty Dolla Sign, and others. The project marked a return to his energetic, club-ready roots, with Curry noting that the album was designed for pure enjoyment rather than deep analysis.
While neither of the upcoming projects is expected to include his recent collaboration with Fred again.. and Skepta, “Victory Lap Two,” fans can anticipate a continued evolution in Curry’s sound as he teams up with some of the most innovative producers in hip-hop. With both a solo album and a high-profile collaborative release on the horizon, Denzel Curry is poised for another standout year.
