Ferg recently shared his experience of taking Kendrick Lamar on a tour of Harlem during a day off from the “Big Steppers Tour.” In an interview with “The Breakfast Club” on November 12, he admitted that having Lamar in his neighborhood heightened his anxiety.
Ferg described the day as memorable, noting that it was unexpected for Lamar, whom he calls his “favorite rapper,” to join him. He recounted organizing an itinerary that included a visit to Melba’s and celebrating Dapper Dan’s birthday on August 8. Ferg humorously remarked on Lamar’s fascination with the open fire hydrants in Harlem, saying, “I was like, ‘This n**ga’s acting like that’s holy water.’ I thought it was cool, and I [saw] the kid in him” as they enjoyed simple moments together.
Although Ferg and Lamar have not collaborated musically yet, Lamar was mentioned in Ferg’s recent project DAROLD, where he rapped about bringing Kendrick to his block. The album features contributions from various artists, including Mary J. Blige and Denzel Curry. Additionally, Ferg expressed excitement about Lamar’s upcoming performance at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show, predicting that he might bring out Lil Wayne as a guest performer.
