Tinashe is on the lookout for DJs who can keep up with her vibrant energy as she prepares for her upcoming Match My Freak World Tour. On September 17, she announced a unique DJ contest in partnership with SoundCloud, inviting DJs to submit their music for a chance to open her shows. “I’m looking for DJs to match my freak. In every city, I’m choosing one person to open the show,” she stated in an announcement clip.
The tour kicks off on October 14 at the House of Blues in Anaheim, California, and will travel across North America, including stops in Atlanta, Nashville, Chicago, Brooklyn, Montreal, and Toronto. While details for additional tour legs are still pending, Raveena Aurora has been confirmed as an opening act for select dates. Tinashe also hinted that shows in the UK, Europe, Australia, and Asia will be announced soon.
The Match My Freak World Tour takes its name from Tinashe’s hit song “Nasty,” which reached No. 61 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 3 on the Hot R&B Songs chart. Earlier this year, she released several remixes of “Nasty,” featuring artists like Jane Remover and KAYTRANADA.
In a candid moment during an interview with KAYTRANADA, Tinashe reflected on her romantic life, saying, “Honestly, when it comes to romance and stuff like that, nobody [matches my freak]. I’m out here dolo as f**k.” However, she acknowledged her fans as a source of support throughout her career: “They have been so supportive of this era and have been there for me throughout the highs and lows.”
