On September 13, Victoria Monét announced the deluxe edition of her debut album, JAGUAR II, which will be available on streaming platforms starting October 4.
In a humorous promotional clip shared on her social media, Monét is seen watching “Alright” in a theater. After running out of popcorn, she heads to the concession stand, only to find two employees caught up in a makeout session. She playfully interrupts them to order more popcorn, stating, “I think this time I’m gonna go with the deluxe.”
The deluxe edition will feature ten additional tracks, including the previously released singles “SOS (Sex on Sight)” featuring Usher and her duet with Bryson Tiller, “We Might Even Be Falling In Love.” Monét explained her decision to release the deluxe version, saying, “I thought the Grammy win would be a nice bow on the chapter, but I did promise fans that I would have a deluxe. There are so many songs that I made.”
JAGUAR II originally won Best R&B Album at the 66th Grammy Awards, where Monét also received accolades for Best New Artist and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. During her interview on “The Angie Martinez Show,” she mentioned that she and Usher have another collaboration in the works and expressed her desire to engage fans in deciding what they want to hear next.
The original JAGUAR II was released on August 25, 2023, and included hits like “On My Mama,” which helped propel her into mainstream R&B. Monét is also set to perform at the 2024 ONE Musicfest in Atlanta on October 26 and 27.
