Halle Bailey has made a powerful return to music with her new single “Because I Love You,” released on Friday, August 30. The track, produced by Dem Jointz, features RJ Cyler as her love interest in the accompanying visuals.
In “Because I Love You,” Halle explores themes of love and vulnerability, expressing her feelings for someone who struggles to reciprocate. The lyrics reflect a playful yet passionate narrative, with lines about enjoying life and flaunting her confidence: “Roof off the Maybach, climbin’ on the dash, and yes, I did that, ’cause I wanted a reaction.”
Halle described the song as an anthem for anyone who has experienced deep love, capturing the euphoria and passion that comes with it. She emphasized that the accompanying video delves into the vulnerability that love can evoke, hoping to resonate with listeners as they think of their own loved ones.
This release marks Halle’s second single of 2024, following “In Your Hands,” which she wrote during her pregnancy with her son, Halo. Earlier this week, Halle also made headlines when Brandy revealed she is the top choice to portray her in a biopic.
In addition to her music career, Halle has been confirmed to star in Pharrell Williams’ upcoming musical film “Atlantis,” set for a theatrical release on May 9, 2025.
