Chris Brown is not amused by an impersonator on social media. The R&B singer lashed out at influencer and musician Tigo Fariah, who bears a striking resemblance to Brown, after multiple fans tagged him in Fariah’s posts.
“It’s lame as fk impersonating me…you look like you missing a chromosome. BE YOU MY NIA… YOU COULD NEVER BE ME! SO STOP IT BEFORE I SLAP DA S**T OUT YOU,” Brown commented on one of Fariah’s posts.
Fans had mixed reactions to Brown’s explicit response. Some agreed with him, stating that there’s a difference between being a fan and trying to become the person you admire, especially when it involves altering your appearance to match the celebrity’s tattoos and piercings.
However, others felt Brown overreacted, with one Brazilian fan commenting, “Calm down, man! Here in Brazil, we are like that and are already used to your double. If you start a fight with him, you will start a fight with all of us and even with your Brazilian fans.”
This isn’t the first time Brown has gotten into a social media spat. He recently called out PARTYNEXTDOOR for featuring an ex-girlfriend in a music video, demanding the rapper apologize or “keep that same energy” when they meet in person.
While celebrity impersonations may be a norm in today’s society, it’s clear that Brown doesn’t appreciate Fariah’s efforts to emulate his look. The singer’s strong reaction has sparked a lively discussion among fans about the boundaries of fandom and the potential consequences of crossing them.
