Bronny James has garnered significant attention and support, particularly from Lil Wayne, who believes in his potential to become an All-Star. During an episode of “UNDISPUTED,” Lil Wayne discussed Bronny’s performance in the Summer League, saying, “What I’ve seen from him so far is what I expected to see. Him playing as hard as he can, not trying, not overtrying, and also, I don’t see any fear.”
Bronny’s statistics from the Los Angeles Lakers’ game against the Miami Heat on July 10 included three points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals. Despite his team’s loss, he spent 29 minutes on the court.
Lil Wayne expressed enthusiasm for Bronny’s future, stating, “I think he can become real good. Also, because he shows you how hard he works. He worked real hard.” When asked if Bronny has the potential to be a starter, Lil Wayne responded, “That shouldn’t even be a goal for him. That shouldn’t be a ceiling. That should be like the floor. He should be working hard right now to become an NBA star.”
Regarding Bronny’s potential to be an All-Star, Lil Wayne said, “He definitely has a chance.” Bronny was drafted by the Lakers in June and chose the No. 9 jersey in homage to the late Juice WRLD, who has been an inspiration to him.
In a press conference, Bronny explained the significance of his jersey choice: “Juice has just been a big part of me keeping calm in situations that I’ve been through. Just paying homage to him, especially because he passed. It’s a really important thing for me.”
