In 2024, Doja Cat has had a remarkable year so far, attending the Met Gala, announcing a collaboration with Airbnb, and releasing Scarlet 2 CLAUDE. Today, May 17, she reissued the album with new versions of “Shutcho,” “DISRESPECTFUL,” and “ACKNOWLEDGE ME,” featuring The Joy. The South African boy group had previously joined Doja for her headlining performance at Coachella in April.
The band shared the news on Twitter, expressing their excitement about the release of the three songs. Scarlet 2 CLAUDE was initially released on April 5 with seven new tracks, including collaborations like “MASC” with Teezo Touchdown and “URRRGE!!!!!!!!!!” featuring ASAP Rocky.
During an interview on the “Therapy Gecko” podcast earlier this year, Doja discussed the extended edition of her fourth studio album, linking it to the story of Scarlet and the character Claude Frollo from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. She explained that the album’s theme revolves around control and power, drawing parallels to creatives’ struggles with certain individuals.

In June, Doja will take her “The Scarlet Tour” overseas, starting in Glasgow, Scotland, at the OVO Hydro, and then moving on to cities like Birmingham, London, Amsterdam, and Paris for her European and U.K. leg of the tour.
