Rick Ross, Ice Spice Back Taylor Swift’s ‘Tortured Poets’ Inspiration

Taylor Swift’s latest album, “THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT,” was released at midnight on April 19, 2024. Surprisingly, Rick Ross showed his support for the project ahead of its release, praising Swift’s songwriting skills and describing her song titles as “gangsta” in a tweet on April 18. This unexpected endorsement raised eyebrows among fans, with one follower even questioning if Ross is a Swiftie.

Ross’s endorsement of Swift’s album came after Drake’s release of “Push Ups,” where he humorously mocked Kendrick Lamar for collaborating with Swift on the “Bad Blood (Remix).” Drake’s lyrics playfully critiqued the commercial aspect of such collaborations, referencing Maroon 5 and the Swifties.

In addition to supporting Swift’s music, Ross defended her against conspiracy theories about the Super Bowl LVIII being rigged in her favor during Logan Paul’s “IMPAULSIVE” podcast in February. He emphasized that Swift’s success is based on her talent and hard work, dismissing any notions of favoritism.

Ice Spice, another artist, also showed support for Swift by reposting her album on her Instagram Story. The two artists had previously collaborated on “Karma (Remix)” from Swift’s prior album, with Swift expressing how natural and enjoyable the collaboration was. Swift shared that Ice Spice had been a fan of her music since childhood, leading to a seamless collaboration that resonated with both artists.

Overall, the unexpected support from Rick Ross, along with Ice Spice’s reposting of Swift’s album, highlights the diverse and widespread appeal of Taylor Swift’s music across different genres and artists.
