YoungBoy Never Broke Again is facing a significant escalation in his legal troubles following his recent arrest in Utah on April 16. The rapper now confronts a total of 63 charges related to his alleged involvement in a large-scale prescription fraud scheme. Initially indicted on charges including possession of a dangerous weapon by a restricted person, pattern of unlawful activity, and third-degree forgery, YoungBoy is now confronted with a more extensive list of accusations.
The new charges against YoungBoy include 20 counts of identity fraud, 20 counts of forgery, 20 counts of attempting to procure a drug prescription, and one count of possession of a controlled substance, in addition to the two second-degree felonies. Authorities claim that the 24-year-old rapper was part of a scheme to fraudulently obtain promethazine with codeine, a key ingredient in the creation of lean, from various pharmacies in Cache County. One incident detailed in the arrest report involved YoungBoy allegedly using a physician’s identification to call in a prescription for a 74-year-old woman, prompting the pharmacist to contact the doctor directly to verify the order’s authenticity.
YoungBoy’s legal issues have been compounded by past incidents, including a 2020 case where Baton Rouge police found Hydrocodone, Xanax, marijuana, and digital scales during one of his video shoots. His gun case from this incident has been put on hold pending a ruling by the U.S. Supreme Court on Second Amendment rights later this spring. Concerns about YoungBoy’s well-being have been raised by his social media followers, urging him to seek help after he posted a photo of himself alongside prescription pills and what appeared to be lean earlier this year.
