The famously reclusive couple finally revealed their newborn son on September 19, 2023. In photos from celebrity photographer Miles Diggs, Rihanna, and A$AP, Rocky doted over baby Riot in his first public appearance. Riot Rose Mayers was born on August 1, 2023.
The fashion/music power couple has been together since the pandemic, when they took a road trip from Los Angeles to New York and quickly fell in love, according to Rihanna in an interview with Vogue last April. “He became my family in that time,” she shares. “There’s no pretentious my-brand-your-brand bull****, it’s just us living… just feel like I can do any part of life by his side.”
Fast forward to today, and they are a family of four. Their first son, RZA Athelston Mayers, was born on May 13, 2022, and is now 16 months old and beginning to resemble his superstar parents. Consistent with their private habits, it took the couple almost a year to publicly announce their firstborn’s name.
Their two sons carry Rocky’s last name, his government name being Rakim Mayers. It is unclear if the couple has married privately, but there is no shortage of rumors. Rocky dedicated a song to his “beautiful wife” at a Spotify concert last summer, and Rihanna has claimed “her family is complete” in a People Magazine exclusive.
His older brother, RZA, and his parents accompanied the newborn in a paparazzi-style photoshoot. Rocky appeared casual in a green plaid jacket paired with Bottega Veneta jeans, whereas his partner stunned. Rihanna wore sleek navy leggings/stilettos styled with a denim jacket.
Though choreographed, the photoshoot appeared very candid. In some photos, the pair embrace their stardom, looking modest yet lavish in their designer and leaning against a Range Rover. Others seem more intimate and candid, with the parents huddling closely with their new child.
