Bow Wow is going back to where it all began.
The rapper has announced plans to reunite with Snoop Dogg and release his final album on Death Row Records, which was recently acquired by the hip-hop icon.
During a Twitter Q&A, Shad Moss was asked when he plans to link up with Snoop, who discovered him when he was just 6 years old.
“Spoke to snoop last week. Very soon,” he told a fan. “My plan is to put my final album on death row and close my music career out where it began. I’m tryna do the d wade and come home and close it out.”
Snoop gave Bow Wow his original stage name, Lil’ Bow Wow, after seeing him perform at a concert in 1993. He went on to appear on Snoop’s debut album Doggystyle before eventually signing with Jermaine Dupri at So So Def. His 2000 single “Bow Wow (That’s My Name)” also featured Snoop.
Earlier this month, Snoop announced that he acquired Death Row from the Blackstone-controlled MNRK Music Group and planned to make it the first major record label to operate as an “NFT label.”
Bow Wow hasn’t released a new studio album in over a decade. In early 2021, he revealed that he wanted to drop one more album before calling it quits.
“I’ma do one more album. It’s gonna be the last one and it’s gonna be called Before 30, and I’ma have Snoop narrate the whole thing,” he told “Ebro in the Morning.”
