Nicki Minaj and Coi Leray may or may not have a collaboration in the works.
On Monday, Coi’s father Benzino claimed that his daughter recorded a song with Minaj for her upcoming debut album. “Her album’s gonna be dope. She got this song with Nicki Minaj that’s gonna be coming out that’s gonna be crazy,” he revealed during a Clubhouse chat.
But after Benzino’s announcement, Nicki seemingly shut down the suggestion that she and Coi have a song coming out. “I don’t have a collab coming with anyone,” she wrote in an Instagram Story, explaining that she is focused on her own music. “Onika mode. Love you.”
While Coi did not directly address the rumored Nicki feature, she was not happy about her father speaking on her behalf. “It’s my turn, daddy. I’ma need you to sit the f**k down, grab you some popcorn, enjoy the shower, and clap for me when it’s time to clap for me,” she said on IG Live.
Coi also shared a meme of herself staring at her phone, seemingly confused by it all.
Nicki previously showed her support for the “No More Parties” rapper, who was seen rapping along to Nicki’s single “Do We Have a Problem?” Nicki gave Coi’s TikTok video her stamp of approval with a series of heart emojis.
In recent weeks, Nicki did tease a collaboration with a mystery female artist. “I recently sent a verse back to a female,” she told “The Dana Cortez Show.”
