Young Dolph lives on.
Key Glock pays tribute to his late cousin and mentor on “Proud” off Paper Route Empire’s upcoming Dolph tribute album, Long Live Dolph. On the emotional track, a grieving Glock grapples with the loss (“I’ve been trying to drink the pain away”), while promising to make Dolph proud.
“I lost my dawg, I lost my mind / No lie, I’m really lost inside,” he raps. “I got Dolph looking down on me, I know that ni**a smiling.”
Long Live Dolph is set to drop Friday featuring songs from Dolph’s Paper Route Empire roster, including Glock, Snupe Bandz, Big Moochie Grape, Kenny Muney, and Jay Fizzle, who honors Dolph on the title track.
Dolph was shot and killed while at a Memphis bakery on Nov. 17. Earlier this month, two men were arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with his death.
