The Dawn is here.
A week into the new year, The Weeknd returns with his fifth studio album Dawn FM. The XO crooner retires his After Hours red blazer and transforms into an old man for his latest era, which he describes as a “sonic experience.”
The 16-track album, which follows 2020’s After Hours, includes the single “Take My Breath,” with contributions from Quincy Jones, Tyler, the Creator, Lil Wayne, Oneohtrix Point Never, and Jim Carrey, who serves as the host of 103.5 Dawn FM.
“It’s the album I’ve always wanted to make,” Abel told GQ, who described the album as “Quincy Jones meets Giorgio Moroder meets the best-night-of-your-fu**ing-life party records.”
The Weeknd premiered the album during his “103.5 Dawn FM” livestream experience on Amazon Music and Twitch on Thursday night. He is also selling limited-edition merch, which will be available for 48 hours online.
Starting this summer, The Weeknd will bring his new music to life on his “After Hours Til Dawn” global stadium tour.
