“Blurred Lines” is still making controversy.
In her new book My Body, which will be released next month, supermodel Emily Ratajkowski alleges that Robin Thicke grabbed her breasts while they were filming the music video for his chart-topping 2013 hit featuring Pharrell Williams and T.I.
“Suddenly, out of nowhere, I felt the coolness and foreignness of a stranger’s hands cupping my bare breasts from behind. I instinctively moved away, looking back at Robin Thicke,” Ratajkowski writes in the book, according to the Sunday Times of London.
Ratajkowski appeared topless alongside Thicke in the video, which has nearly 800 million views on YouTube.
According to the report (via Page Six), Ratajkowski initially enjoyed the shoot until Thicke started behaving inappropriately.
“He smiled a goofy grin and stumbled backward, his eyes concealed behind his sunglasses. My head turned to the darkness beyond the set. [The director, Diane Martel’s] voice cracked as she yelled out to me, ‘Are you okay?,’” the book states.
“I pushed my chin forward and shrugged, avoiding eye contact, feeling the heat of humiliation pump through my body,” she added. “I didn’t react—not really, not like I should have.”
Martel confirmed the incident, according to the report. “I remember the moment that he grabbed her breasts,” she said. “One in each hand. He was standing behind her as they were both in profile. I screamed in my very aggressive Brooklyn voice, ‘What the f**k are you doing, that’s it!! The shoot is over!!’”
Thicke had reportedly been drinking and “sheepishly” apologized afterward. “I don’t think he would have done this had he been sober,” Martel said.
This is the latest controversy involving “Blurred Lines.” In 2015, a judge ordered Thicke and Williams to pay almost $5 million to Marvin Gaye’s estate for copyright infringement of Gaye’s 1977 song “Got to Give It Up.”
