Playboi Carti is being sued over an unpaid jewelry bill.
Celebrity jeweler Eliantte & Co. filed a lawsuit in New York claiming that the Whole Lotta Red rapper owes him $97,063.75. According to TMZ, the outstanding bill is for two custom necklaces that Carti ordered back in September 2020.
Eliantte designed a 14-carat white gold diamond rosary chain and a diamond tennis chain for Carti, which cost $197,063.75. Eliantte claims Carti made a $100,000 payment in January, but has yet to pay off the balance despite repeated demands. He is now suing to get what he’s owed.
Eliantte’s famous clients include Cardi B, The Weeknd, and Lil Wayne. He is also responsible for Lil Uzi Vert’s infamous $24 million pink forehead diamond.
Carti, who has been teasing his new project Narcissist, has not responded to the lawsuit.
