Halsey is going to be a mom!
The “Without Me” singer has announced that she is pregnant and expecting her first child. Taking to Instagram on Wednesday (Jan. 27), the 26-year-old star shared the exciting news with a series of striking photos. In two of the maternity pics, she appears topless while showing off her baby bump.
“surprise!” Halsey captioned the post, along with a milk bottle, rainbow, and angel emoji.
The father is screenwriter Alev Aydin, 37, who she tagged over her belly in one of the photos. Aydin confirmed the news, sharing Halsey’s post on his Instagram Story with two heart emojis.
In the comments of Halsey’s post, Aydin added, “Heart so full, I love you, sweetness.” Halsey responded, “I love you!!!!! And I love this mini human already!”
In an interview with The Guardian in February 2020, Halsey said motherhood is “looking like something that’s gonna happen for me. That’s a miracle.” She previously suffered a miscarriage, revealing it was the “most inadequate I’ve ever felt.”
“Here I am achieving this out-of-control life, and I can’t do the one thing I’m biologically put on this earth to do,” she said at the time. “Then I have to go onstage and be this sex symbol of femininity and empowerment? It is demoralizing.”
The mom-to-be received congratulatory messages from her millions of fans and famous friends including Cassie, Normani, Emily Ratajkowski, and Tinashe.
