At 19, rising artist TML JOJO is beginning his career with a message rooted in connection, positivity and the belief that music should move listeners both emotionally and physically.
Born Joseph Brazelton in Detroit, TML JOJO spent most of his childhood in Colorado before relocating to Orange County, California, where he is currently based. His stage name represents the identity he hopes to establish through his music: an artist unafraid to give his energy to others.
“TML” stands for “Too Much Love,” a phrase he chose because of the way he approaches relationships and the people around him.
“I’ve always been someone who gives a lot of love and energy to the people around me,” TML JOJO said. “Regardless of whether we are close or not, I give everyone a chance. It’s a big part of who I am, and I wanted my music to reflect that.”
That philosophy now serves as the foundation of his first full-length mainstream album, “Too Much Love,” released July 8. The project introduces TML JOJO as a versatile young artist interested in balancing heartfelt songwriting with catchy melodies, confident flows and records built for shared experiences.
Rather than confining himself to one mood or sound, TML JOJO designed the album to demonstrate his range. Its songs move between personal themes and more upbeat moments, offering listeners music they can relate to as well as tracks they can enjoy together.
“I make music that’s meant to connect with people while sounding good from start to finish,” he said. “Some heartfelt stuff individuals can relate to, but also something people can dance together to.”
That balance is central to his emerging style. TML JOJO places an emphasis on memorable hooks and distinct flows while trying to ensure that each song maintains its own identity. Although versatility is important to him, he said he also wants every experiment to remain recognizable as part of his sound.
“The album showcases my versatility as an artist, with different sounds, memorable hooks and strong flows throughout,” he said. “I wanted listeners to hear both my range and the quality I bring to every track.”
Behind his ambition is the support of his family, whom TML JOJO credits as his greatest influence. Their belief gave him the confidence to pursue music before he had an established audience or a catalog to support his aspirations.
“They believed in me before anyone else did and always encouraged me to pursue music because they saw the potential in me,” he said.
Releasing “Too Much Love” represents an important first step, but TML JOJO views the album as an introduction rather than a final statement. Still early in his career, he is focused on consistently releasing music, expanding his audience and demonstrating his development with each new project.
With his debut now available, TML JOJO is building his identity around the same principle behind his name: giving listeners energy, honesty and, above all, too much love.
