July 25, 2020 – Atlanta, GA – Ja’miyla Camille Barber (Princess Ja’miyla) was born April 6, 2009 in West Palm Beach, Florida. When she was an infant, Ja’miyla’s family moved to Atlanta, GA. At an early age, Princess Ja’miyla was introduced to the entertainment industry. Her mother, Titra Lampley, is a published author and screenwriter, and four of Ja’miyla’s siblings became artists at young ages. With huge footsteps to follow, Princess Ja’miyla was determined to pave her own path.
Princess Ja’miyla’s career started when she was seven years old, following the release of her dance video that went viral to a global audience. At eight years old, Princess Ja’miyla released her first hit single “Turn Up.” In addition to her music, Princess Ja’miyla has appeared in magazines, commercials, and independent films since she stepped into the spotlight.
Now, at age eleven, Princess Ja’miyla is a print model, hip-hop/R&B/rap artist, dancer, actress, and author. Through writing all of her song lyrics, Princess Jamiyla has continued the craft she is most passionate about. Ja’miyla is currently working toward releasing her new album “Royalty World” that will feature “Drip” and her latest single “Hit My Dance.”
Although musically inspired by Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, and Chris Brown, Princess Ja’miyla has chosen to follow the benevolence of Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, and Lorde by becoming an anti-bullying advocate. Ja’miyla encourages those around her to act with kindness and her mission is to bring people closer together through her music. Furthermore, Ja’miyla aspires to motivate more young people to follow their dreams and passions without ever giving up. Ja’miyla sends out words of encouragement on her weelky podcast Dream World, where topics of goals, dedication, work ethic, and ways to prevent bullying are discussed with like-minded young people.
