Pusha T has confirmed that he stayed in close contact with Kendrick Lamar during Lamar’s high-profile lyrical battle with Drake, shedding light on the camaraderie between two of hip-hop’s most formidable lyricists. The revelation came during Clipse’s promotional run for their comeback album, Let God Sort Em Out, where Lamar also features on the track “Chains & Whips”.

Appearing on “The Breakfast Club” on July 11, Pusha T was asked whether he recognized his own influence in Kendrick’s scathing diss track “euphoria,” released in response to Drake’s “Push Ups.” Pusha responded, “Great lyricists just tune into the obvious,” and confirmed that he and Lamar were in touch throughout the feud, adding, “Hell yeah. That’s my guy!”

Kendrick Lamar notably name-dropped Pusha T on “euphoria,” rapping, “Yeah, f**k all that pushin’ P, let me see you push a T / You better off spinnin’ again on him, you think about pushin’ me / He’s Terrence Thornton, I’m Terence Crawford, yeah, I’m whoopin’ feet.” Pusha T has praised the track, calling it an “incredible display of battle raps,” and his Clipse partner No Malice described it as a “master class.”

Let God Sort Em Out features 13 tracks, including collaborations with Kendrick Lamar and Tyler, The Creator, and marks Clipse’s first album in over a decade. The project arrives amid renewed attention on hip-hop’s competitive spirit, with Pusha T and Kendrick Lamar both playing pivotal roles in shaping the genre’s current landscape.
