As we delve into our next artist we want to highlight that it is currently the end of the 1st quarter of 2024 we have already seen aliens in Miami and also Mike Tyson coming out of retirement to fight Jake Paul. Another shocker besides Russell Wilson and Patrick Queen joining the Pittsburgh Steelers is ZIO (Zee-Yo) pushing back his “end of a trilogy” album itled BIZZY 3. The album got a push back from the label Fam1st Entertainment due to a “sonic displacement”.”
So who is ZIO (Zee-Yo)? Born Mitchel K. Malizio in Pittsburgh, Pa on December 27th 1988 ZIO (Zee-Yo) was raised in a minority family of hispanic italian and african american members. Being raised in the inner city and the boros of the city Z would develop his wits from the asphalt of the streets. Known for his marijuana and music ZIO (Zee-Yo) is one of the most influential and prominent artists from the region. Most hip hop fans know of Wiz Khalifa or Mac Miller, ZIO (Zee-Yo) is from the same era he just didn’t go pop. ZIO (Zee-Yo) remained underground and away from the mainstream by focusing on perfecting his production and the business development of his own label.
BIZZY 3 is the last of his street album series which depicts the life of a busy hustler in and out the studios, night clubs, strip clubs, beefs and trap houses. ZIO (Zee-Yo) is a bright lyricist and one of the best writers we have come across here at Raptology. The syllables, the wordplay; the color he can illustrate on top of the instrumental is quite captivating. ZIO (Zee-Yo) allowed us to have a small listening session to hear some of the songs from BIZZY 3, our staff was enthralled with the style. BIZZY 3 and Pittsburgh rapper ZIO (Zee-Yo) is an automatic classic for anyone who hears it, the eloquence of the cadence and overall feel of the sound is addictive.
