Ice Spice and Central Cee have released their first official collaboration, the single “Did It First,” along with an accompanying music video.
The track tackles the messy dynamics of a relationship, with Ice Spice rapping about getting revenge on a cheating ex-partner. She spits lines like “If he cheatin’, I’m doin’ him worse/ No Uno, I hit the reverse/ I ain’t trippin’, the grip in my purse/ I don’t care, ’cause he did it first.”
Central Cee also contributes a verse, admitting to his own unfaithfulness and making “stupid excuses” like “I was juiced and tripped and fell in.” The video, directed by Ice Spice, Edgar Estevez, and Nikita Vilchinski, features the two artists cozying up together in bed and partying with their crews.
This marks the first official collaboration between Ice Spice and Central Cee, though they had previously teamed up on a remix of Ice’s hit “Munch (Feelin’ U)” that was unfortunately scrapped. Fans have been receptive to their latest joint effort, with one Twitter user commenting “I like that Central Cee and Ice Spice song, and the video is cute.”
The release of “Did It First” comes ahead of the July 26 debut of Ice Spice’s highly anticipated album “Y2K!,” which she has teased with previous singles like “Think U The Sh*t (Fart),” “Gimmie A Light,” and “Phat Butt.” It also follows Ice Spice’s recent surprise appearance during Travis Scott’s London concert, though it’s unclear if their collaboration will appear on either artist’s upcoming project.
Overall, “Did It First” showcases the creative chemistry between Ice Spice and Central Cee, further fueling the dating rumors that have surrounded the two rising stars. Fans will be eager to see what other collaborations the pair have in store.
