Spicy Situation: Ice Spice Skips Hot Ones Challenge

Ice Spice faced the fiery challenge on “Hot Ones” today, March 28, but fell short, leaving two wings uneaten and nearly in tears. Despite her self-proclaimed expertise in spicy foods, the “Deli” rapper joined the likes of Pusha T, Lil Yachty, and DJ Khaled on the show’s wall of shame after refusing to try the MataSanos Hot Sauce.

During her interview with host Sean Evans, Ice Spice delved into her creative process, revealing that she typically starts with the hook before crafting the verses. She mentioned a track on her upcoming album where she deviated from this norm, going straight into a verse without a traditional hook, expressing anticipation for fan feedback on this approach.

Ice Spice also shared insights into her favorite music videos, highlighting her collaboration with Nicki Minaj on the “Princess Diana (Remix)” video, which garnered over 135 million views on YouTube and reached No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. She reminisced about the excitement of working with Nicki and the fun they had during the shoot, particularly in the energetic bedroom scene.

Before concluding her “Hot Ones” appearance, Ice Spice teased her debut album, “Y2K,” inspired by her birth date, January 1, 2000. Having recently finished recording the project, she hinted at a potential exciting collaboration without revealing details. Additionally, RIOTUSA, known for producing hits like “In Ha Mood” and “Barbie World,” is expected to contribute to the album. Ice Spice expressed gratitude for the support and encouragement from RIOTUSA, highlighting their collaborative creative process.
