The Real Life Haunting of Dex Osama: The Death Angel’s Curse

The Real Life Haunting of Dex Osama: The Death Angel’s Curse

What up gang.

Back with the real you know what’s the deal. Hip hop has lost some of its most prolific and promising rappers to beef. Street dudes get on the radar to make it big but the streets is like a chain they can’t break. One case has stood out in the untimely deaths, The Death Bringer, Dex Osama

Dex had a ruthless reputation in the D but what made his case so strange was his race from the same thing he brought to opps, death. Dex Osama saw the grim reaper and was haunted with dreams of grim coming for his life, he heard voices in his head, he was fighting demons that ultimately claimed his life no matter how he tried to regain control of his body, soul, and life. If you’re scared of the supernatural world, watch this one with the lights on, we’re going to go into detail on everything he faced, his beefs, and his tragic passing. Lets’ chop it up and break it down.

Byron Cox aka Dex Osama was a Choppa Gang member who came up in the westside of Detroit on Dexter in his hood, Darkside where Choopa Gang OG’s like Big Choppa repped https://youtu.be/CBEAnVoEnaQ (1:05-1:36) Dexter is where he got his name Dex from https://youtu.be/CBEAnVoEnaQ (1:40-1:52) https://youtu.be/0o44sMSL03M (0:14-0:18) https://youtu.be/spxGtnmVimQ (0:08-0:25)

At first, he was known as Young Dex before changing it to Dex Osama. A YouTube comment under a video of him would bring this fact to light and while it seemed like he could just be chasing clout, turns out he wasn’t.

Dex was born into the street life. It’s almost as if destiny chose that path for him. All about him was gang banging, immorality and influences of the street https://youtu.be/4biQ1T4VMLw (4:14-4:36) Everyone he looked up to was living life on the edge and even as a kid he understood the hood lingo and mentality https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (8:08-8:30) If that wasn’t enough to warp Dex Osama’s young mind into a life as a gangster, his uncles Ronnie

and Chico

were savages in the hood that had a reputation for being ruthless https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (8:31-8:51) Dex’s mom noticed the influence his environment had on him before he was even a teenager https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (9:17-9:25)

He would gravitate to gangster movies like Paid in Full. The drugs, guns and violence captivated his young mind https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (6:33-6:50)

Dex would hear his pops rapping a particular song, the words that stood out to him was “My son is a thug” and he started writing rhymes https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (6:51-7:11) https://youtu.be/HNYC7d5mxGg (1:47-1:50) Dex started writing raps about topics that stunned even his moms https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (7:22-7:50)

Those raps would soon become more than just lyrics depicting others around him, but his own life. Dex Osama suffered two heavy loses that sent him down a dark path with demons weighing on his shoulders. His uncles Ronnie and Chico would lose their life to gang violence https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (9:26-10:02) They were like older brothers to Dex and he went off the rails, care for life was gone and he simply acted out of anger and hatred https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (10:03-10:31) While he was consumed by the darkness brewing inside him, his younger brother Ducie tried to go down a better path, focusing on school https://youtu.be/HNYC7d5mxGg (7:06-7:12)

As Dex was terrorizing the streets, hip hop tried to sidetrack him from where he was headed and save his life. Dex always messed with music but not seriously, but one day in the studio with his homies GT

He freestyled a verse on the track “Thousands” and it took off https://youtu.be/0o44sMSL03M (1:47-2:32) https://youtu.be/L-OKrwOpEKQ

Dex Osama went on to drop bangers like “Crime In The D” https://youtu.be/dfXbhTxaPu8 “Boyz In Tha Hood” https://youtu.be/lGriwlFTvLs and “Choppa (Freestyle)” https://youtu.be/cYGksG_xer8 Dex was like an 80’s rapper vibe with his own modern style. It was something fresh out of Detroit and was taking over the airwaves. Things went international when he dropped his track “Clean Up Man” https://youtu.be/uOpAHb3i9Xc. The track brought good news and bad news. The bad news is that he was rapping about his life, and it was gruesome, gory, and violent, and we all know what that energy brings for rappers. But on the good news, it caught the attention of Philly goat, Meek Mill and Detroit star Dej Loaf and his life changed.

Dex was being flown out to events like SXSW, meeting celebrities and seeing a whole different side of what life could be if he left the streets behind https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrUn (4:05-5:10) https://youtu.be/0o44sMSL03M (0:56-1:44)

He was on his way out, but that street life had a hold of bro, it was all he knew since a youngin. Dex would be in the trenches with the choppa, even pulling out poles bussing off real shots while rapping. It was crazy the wild life he was living https://youtu.be/8lJ_6XfUTpw (1:44-2:30) https://youtu.be/f-9sdPK-6hY (0:11-0:24)

But what persons weren’t seeing was the effects his lifestyle had on him behind the scenes. Dex was running from demons on a daily and voices in his head grew louder and louder. Dex was tormented by something coming for his life and he turned to drugs to escape the reality https://youtu.be/CBEAnVoEnaQ (3:58-4:10) https://youtu.be/f-9sdPK-6hY (2:55-3:09) Dex was fighting for his life, literally, and fans began to take notice in his music as he started expressing what he was dealing with; the devil and demons coming for his soul. You can hear it mentioned in his track “Choppa on The Side of Me” https://youtu.be/w3BO2a55Ic8 (0:51-1:00) But the story of what he was facing came out fully in his track “Death on Me.” What fans didn’t know was that the bars “My mama said I got death on me” was inspired by real life events https://youtu.be/68fP0XawcY0 (0:21-0:26). His mom recalled the night her son Dex called frantic about seeing the grim reaper coming to get him and she knew it was the devil seeking his soul and death was on him if he didn’t change his life https://youtu.be/HNYC7d5mxGg (3:20-4:00) https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (14:16-14:56) https://youtu.be/0o44sMSL03M (7:40-8:26) This wasn’t a fluke occurrence or the drugs messing with his mind. Dex was so shaken up that he didn’t even like hearing the song. In fact if the song played around him it felt like his body no longer became his https://youtu.be/zM8HX4EiDXw (0:36-0:44) https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (1:54-16:20) https://youtu.be/zM8HX4EiDXw (6:24-7:00) Dex recalled hearing the devils voice on the track, something neither him nor his engineer mixed in with effects https://youtu.be/zM8HX4EiDXw (0:13-0:33) https://youtu.be/zM8HX4EiDXw (7:01-7:36)

It was so serious that Dex had to see a pastor about what was happening to him because he couldn’t sleep he couldn’t eat because the life he was living was taking a toll and he kept seeing this death like figure every time he closed his eyes. Dex Osama was being target by an opp that he couldn’t outrun or murk, death itself https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (16:21-17:17) The pastor tried to save his life, but Dex couldn’t leave the streets behind https://youtu.be/0o44sMSL03M (8:27-9:11) https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (1:07-0:35)

Dex was trying to escape what seems like fate and at the same time dodge everyone he robbed, shot, and did dirty in the hood and it was weighing him down https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (17:18-17:36) Dex eventually upped his drug use to Molly and OD’d nearly losing his life https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (19:27-20:04)

That experience began opening his eyes to change, like God was trying to steer him from the destiny he was running towards, and for a moment it seemed like Dex saw the light https://youtu.be/zM8HX4EiDXw (0:47-1:48)

Ironically his most terrifying song became his biggest hit and got him even closer to the A-List lifestyle, linking with Meek again and being flown out to Vegas to chill with the big boys alongside Dej Loaf n all of em https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (11:04-12:28) https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (13:15-13:26) https://youtu.be/HNyw36o7oMQ (0:00-0:12)

His fame was skyrocketing and seemed he was moving on from his old lifestyle to focus on music, but time showed that wasn’t the case. He was still involved in deadly beefs, one which was with Detroit gang, BandGang

Dex Osama would diss their fallen homie 2dots in a track alongside Rocaine titled “Jackboy Shit” spitting the bars “Ride around town one chopper, 2 glocks. Hit him in his head call him 2Dots” https://youtu.be/c2Hgylc_t-g (2:03-2:10) BandGand would respond with close affiliates ShredGang for a Dex Osama Diss https://youtu.be/Zsq9NgNLVf4 This continued back and forth on social media escalating the situation

Dex had an out through music, but he just couldn’t leave the streets behind and death was creeping closer. Remember that diss by Bandgang n em? In a line they referenced a time they hit up Osama’s whip knocking his treasured choppa out his hand https://youtu.be/Zsq9NgNLVf4 (0:26-0:37) Dex would seem to confirm the situation when he confided in a homie after an incident with his whip being shot up and it was clear as day the lifestyle was dragging Dex into insanity https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (17:37-18:08) But even that couldn’t stop Dex. In fact, he linked up with Shy Glizzy

and made a song about it titled “Hoes” https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (18:17-18:40) https://youtu.be/KbMoWbd9HH4

Dex was losing control quickly and surely. Not being able to follow a purer path, the grim reaper finally caught up to the rapper https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (20:09-20:55) On September 7th 2015, it was time for Dex to leave this world. According to reports and his girl that testified against his killers https://youtu.be/RxbmysnCQyY Dex Osama would get into an argument with a group of dudes over his girl. She was a stripper at the Crazy Horse Adult Club they were at that night.

The Crazy Horse strip club on Michigan Ave. in Detroit. Bandana Gee, a close homie and collaborator on songs with Dex (https://youtu.be/0GJrD6YR9yc)broke down what happened on the surveillance footage that night that led to Dex life being ended.

Shawty got asked for a lap dance by dudes Dex knew. Dex wasn’t having that kind of disrespect and poured champagne on her then let shots off in the club sending everyone scattering https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (21:45-22:39)

Dex went outside to dip, letting off a shot in the air, then while arguing with the guys with his pole in his hand, another dude reached over and shot Dex in the chest. A full-on shootout broke out with cops collecting around 25 shells. Dex would dip to a gas station where he lie bleeding out, saying the last words “I can’t breathe. I don’t want to die” https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (22:40-23:29) Dex would pass away upon arrival at the hospital https://youtu.be/rUaZA12593o https://youtu.be/T2nrzeJwQrU (20:58-21:20)

Sadly, just a year after losing Dex, his moms had to grieve over losing his brother and her son Ducie
