Exclusive interview with Toon 1hunnit

Raptology: How did you come up with a stage name?
Toon 1hunnit: I came up with the name Toon 1hunnit from originally being called Cartoon growing up. Cartoons can be whatever you want them to be as long as you illustrate it. At a young age I took that mentality and illustrated my future. As i got older I cut off the first half and kept Toon as a play on the musical term Tune. I added 1hunnit to the end because cartoons are fake, I’m 100 percent real.

Toon 1hunnit: Born and raised in the notorious, world famous Queensbridge housing projects in New York, you probably heard of it. Many legends grow up there, such as Nas and Metta World Peace.

Raptology: Where and how do you work best?
Toon 1hunnit: Most of the time I work off of vibes so it depends on my mood on where I work and how I work. Most of the time you will find me alone in the creative process of making my music. I zone out to my own thoughts. Then you might find me in the middle of a packed studio session feeding off the energy. That’s the beauty of music.
