Exclusive interview with Bredman

STREAM BREDMANS ALBUM

Bredman is a singer and songwriter born in Pasadena, CA. From a very early age, he became aware of a burning passion for music and has strived ever since to create quality tunes that others will be able to relate to and enjoy.

The up-and-coming rapper has always felt a powerful loyalty to his roots, which allows his music to come across as authentic and unique, which is something that will no doubt work to the artist’s advantage.

Although he’s always nurtured this love of music, he has also worked in the modeling industry, most notably showcasing Virgil Abloh’s first drops for Louis Vuitton. But as he worked to make a name for himself in the modeling world, something from within called out. His passion for music would not let him rest, and it was with this in mind that the artist set out to create his brand new musical project AnyDayNow

Hi BREDMAN, First up, tell us bit about yourself – what first got you into music?

I’m a rapper/singer/songwriter/producer & co-founder of “ANYDAYNOW” clothing brand and musical conglomerate from Pasadena, CA. Shout out the 626! So my dad’s side of the family is very musically inclined, it’s something I’ve been doing my entire life we started off in the built in studio in the garage that my dad put together, and with his help and major influence me and my uncles Quamie’Yae, and GoodGame who are more like brothers to me haven’t stopped since we first touched a keyboard and pen paper. We’ve been going hard ever since.

Were there any particular bands or artists you took inspiration from?

For “AnyDayNow” specifically Nipsey Hussle may he rest in peace. He was a big inspiration in the process of creating “AnyDayNow”, he was a big part in why my lyrics are so hustle driven, but my dad and mom also did an amazing job at broadening my musical pallet with classic oldies and a lot of timeless music, from artist like Anita Baker, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, all the way to Snoop Dogg, DJ Quik, Kurupt, to name a few and my own personal influences range from Kendrick Lamar, Drake, J.Cole, Jay-Z, Snoh Aalegra, Frank Ocean and many more but those are most definitely the ones that hit home for me.

If you could collaborate with any living artist, who would it be?.

If I could collaborate with any artist right now, I would love to work with Kendrick, Drake, Snoh Aalegra, Frank Ocean or J.Cole really any of those would be dope I’d love to be able to grace a track with one those artist and I would love to work with DJ Quik or Pharrell on the production side.

Tell us about your new project ANYDAYNOW. What’s it about, what are its themes?

A main theme for “AnyDayNow” is the non-stop grind, and also non-stop elevating whether it’s mental, spiritual, physical, or monetary. I just want people to know that you gotta keep going, keep pushing, and keep praying everything will fall into place.

When did you write it and where did you record it?

“AnyDayNow” was mostly written in the span of 2-4 weeks in early 2019 around March/April, all during on the spot sessions at Quamie’Yae’s old studio in Pasadena, I love writing while the music is being created I feel like it gives me the opportunity to utilize my voice as an instrument in the music.

How does ANYDAYNOW represent your style?

I’d say “AnyDayNow” represents me very well as an artist, but I also pride myself on being multifaceted as an artist. My sound is constantly growing and evolving, but when I am in my rap/hip-hop bag, “AnyDayNow” is most definitely the perfect representation of my lyrical ability, and vocal presence.

What are your hopes for the new project ANYDAYNOW?

My hopes for “AnyDayNow” are that it can touch every listening ear it can, I would hope that “AnyDayNow” is the perfect initial introduction to BredMan as an artist and newcomer who people should be on the lookout for!

What can you tell us about your plans for the rest of 2021?

I have really big plans for 2021, I’ve already released a new single called “Don’t Ask Questions” since the release of “AnyDayNow” and I have another single dropping called “Not A Single” on February 12, 2021 so be on the lookout for that. I plan on dropping very consistently the rest of the year, I’ll be giving numerous vibes and classic songs. Also my team over at ANYDAYNOW the label has some very, very fire music coming from our collection of artists on our roster, so I’m very excited for what 2021 has to offer, we are all very excited for everyone to hear what we’ve been working on

Finally, if you could go back in time and give yourself one piece of advice, when would it be and what would you say?

If I could go back, I would go back to the moment I landed back in California after not being home more than 2 days in the last 3 months, and I would tell myself to remain humble and that patience is key, stay prayed up and never stop going, regardless of what people think of you or your decisions, The world is yours for the taking!
