King Brostar is following his dreams and carving a path to the top with his music.
Born and raised in the streets of The Bronx, Juan Marcos Gonzalez has made many transitions throughout his life along his path to development and enlightenment. His first introduction into the industry was at the age of 13 under the alias, Jonny Making G’s. At 15 he became known as Yuk. When he turned 17, his name became The Ill Drunk Janitor, after which he was referred to as Mr. Wrinkles then Brother Gauge. Soon he elevated into Bro-G, and then to Brosta. This became the foundation that sparked someone very special to the artist to hint at the name Brostar because they believed he was going to become a star. With that, he became King Brostar and grew one step closer to achieving greatness.
King Brostar has since built up a cult following with his charisma and leaderlike persona. He has grown to become a hood celebrity, moving from his home city to the sunny life out in Hotlando Florida as he would say it. Through his unique rapping style and unconventional workouts, Brostar’s name has expanded into states like New York, Miami, Orlando, and LA, and internationally into the UK, Switzerland, Netherlands, and Africa among others. This is in part due to his kaleidoscopic music which he describes as Altered-Native. It’s his own style of alternative music that’s innate and naturally a part of who he is as an artist. His kaleidoscopic music merges all the facets of life in balance just as a kaleidoscope merges colors into a beautiful design. Through his creative artistry, Brostar sends messages with his sound without losing the street aspect, finding that perfect balance between the good and the bad of life’s experiences.
Brostar’s music displays his passion for the culture of hip hop. Ever since his days in the Bronx, he’s been influenced by many in the rap scene. He’s a hip -hop enthusiast who continues to remain rooted in hip hop’s culture and solidifying himself as an artist that up-and-coming rappers can be inspired by. In time, his career began taking root, staying consistent with the release of singles, and doing shows state to state. One of his most notable performances was Art Basel in Miami about a year or 2 ago. Brostar was a crowd favorite, rocking the stage and leaving a massive impression. To date, Brostar has continued to create music that he is proud of and his fans can be proud of all the same. As his name expands further with every release, he aims to further open up and share his craft until his music reaches every corner of the world.
Recently, he has been riding the wave of compliments that has been received for his latest release “Flavor Flav.” Brostar looks to the music icon as a source of inspiration, seeing him as someone who endured many rough patches which he overcame. Given Flav grew up in the Bronx as well, it has added even more motivation to Brostar to elevate past his trials and attain legendary status. Brostar recalls often seeing Flav and soaking up his advice about the importance of time. The new track “Flavor Flav” is an ode to the Emcee for all his accolades including his most recent Lifetime Achievement Award. The song is a testament that hard work and perseverance pays off and a declaration for himself that he too can and will achieve the same and even higher throughout his career. Following up on the success of his single “Flavor Flav,” Brostar has his upcoming track “Aisle 3” scheduled to be released in the near future. The track will be inclusive of a contest where 5 to 6 of the hottest women can have an opportunity to be in his music video. The song would be the first of his that showcases women visually in his music.
Brostar is an exceptional artist, and his grind has already started showing its efforts. His vision is to collaborate with legends he looks up to and use his music coupled with his workouts to bring joy to the world. It’s Brostar’s time to shine and he’s ready for all that is coming his way.
