Inspired to create music that connects with audiences, CQL is releasing the mixtape “Charlie, chapter one” on 11/18 as a therapeutic and expressive project for fans.
Worcester, Massachusetts born Charles Quinn Lozar grew up in Carlsbad, California where he found a passion for hip-hop through artists like Juice Wrld, Eminem, J. Cole, XXXTENTACION, and Ski Mask the Slump God. Becoming an artist like those who influenced him became a real dream after a live concert experience at Juice Wrld’s ‘Death Race for Love Tour.’
He would adopt the stage name CQL which symbolized his life and music always evolving into the next Sequel. Now based in Los Angeles, he continues to chart his way toward his goals, releasing tracks that encompass topics with meaning. Instead of making music for the clubs, CQL aims to make a difference in audiences’ lives, crafting hits speaking on mental health, depression, race, heartbreak, and his dreams. Every song comes from personal experiences, bringing fans into his life, forming an authentic connection with every listener.
With his catalog steadily growing, CQL has the next project lined up for an 11/18 release. His first mixtape, “Charlie, chapter one” will arrive with 18 tracks and 9 features, giving fans a wide range of sounds and melodies to vibe to. Just in time for Thanksgiving, the project hosts a variety of samples, guitar solos, synths, violins, and bass as CQL paints stories that give life to every track. The lead single off the project, “Deep End” featuring Kylah was released showcasing a dynamic range of flows, emotions, and vocals as the music video complements with visuals of the ocean in the backdrop.
CQL plans to release another personal favorite, “AMERICANPYSCHO” as he continues to pump out more heat. Follow the rising Filipino talent to be up to date on the release of his project, “Charlie, chapter one.”
