Following up his summer single Acrophilia’, Skip Waiters returns with his first single, “Stop Lyin’, from his upcoming EP2: MP3 Player, a follow-up to his debut EP Compact Disc released earlier this year. The rising Alternative Hip-Hop act out of Brampton, ON, has started to catch the ears of his audience. His recent EP “Compact Disc” and the lead track “Therapy’” has become his most streamed song ever while being featured on the cover of the Spotify playlist ‘Outliers’ in February of 2022. Exactly a year after the release of one of his most streamed songs, “Actin”, Skip Waiters teams up with “Actin”’ collaborator Shann Aberdeen to deliver another heartfelt, honest alternative R&B record.
Skip Waiters brings a unique touch to conscious rap, with flows that can be compared to Kendrick Lamar. Skip delivers us a smooth & honest piece of his mind with a soft and understandable delivery in “Stop Lyin.” A single reflects on the open conversation we have with ourselves when dealing with rejection, mixed signals and overall acceptance that the person you want doesn’t want you. This single is paired with a visual that brings to life the moments you are by yourself self-reflecting on the past to be able to move forward.
“Stop Lyin was a song birthed from rejection when you’re friend-zoned by the person you’re
in love with but are given mixed signals. This song is about learning to let go even though their actions say otherwise”
Produced by frequent collaborator Mason Hyde (Credits: ToBi, K. Forest) & new collaborator Kingsley this release will be supported by a Lyric Video that was shot on an iPhone 14, for the #shotoniphone14 Apple Campaign & Microsoft Music Player Visualizer being released via Social Media & YouTube.
