Returning to the game with a mission to shake up the industry, ajoshd is bringing the heat back to back with the release of audio and visuals for his new single, “Funds.”
Wichita Falls, TX rapper Josh Alvarez aka ajoshd planted his career roots in Los Angeles where his name as a lyricist and wordsmith has brought attention to his craft and talent on the mic. Passionate about the culture, he put in the time to perfect his sound and is now on his way to mainstream greatness alongside hip-hop greats that influenced his interest in the genre.
Ajoshd founded the rap duo, The Hodge Council with Zay.Peace and together they have built up a reputation as two of hip-hop’s most promising rhymers, both as a team and as solo artists. They have not only worked with some of music’s biggest names, but performed at some of the most popular venues across Texas. With ajoshd’s return from a prior hiatus from the rap game, he enlisted his groupmate for his single, “Right Away” which was embraced by the industry as one of 2022’s hottest releases. Less than 2 months later, ajoshd doubled back, releasing his latest single, “Funds” on August 19th. The single arrived with visuals that showcased the Texas lyricist setting fire to the co-produced DJ Icee track. ajoshd was like a kid at the playground on his latest release, flowing over the beat effortlessly, switching between melodies as his lyrical artform shines light on the dark and ominous undertone of the song. Lined with intense drum patterns, high-impact bass lines, and haunting piano melodies, ajoshd takes the subject of financial gain and wealth, twisting it into a banger that not only builds a vibe but touches on the realities of consumerism while navigating modern society.
