Once the target of labels and nicknames due his cleft lip and palate, YCS Money’s path to rap stardom is a story for the ages. Peers called him “class clown,” now crowds shout his name. YCS Money held his own through a life of hardships and tragedies. Feeling like the odd one growing up due to his physical differences, YCS Money found solace in comedic rap music by lyricists like Lil Dicky. The artform became his outlet to express his personality. With the passing of time, his dedication grew deeper, venturing further into the world of music. This caught the attention of producer Liam Sloan, who contacted YCS Money to work together. That was the start of a connection that aided in pushing YCS Money to pursue his dreams. From then forward, Liam has been a firm believer of his music, providing the support and encouragement YCS Money needed to boost his confidence and nudge him to take his music career seriously.
Unfortunately, tragedy struck when YCS Money was involved in a severe car accident. What should have been his end, was actually his beginning. Medical personnel brought YCS Money back from the grim reaper twice, jump starting his heart back to life. With no idea if he could walk or even talk if he survived, doctors placed the answer in time’s hands. It was here that the true heart and strength of YCS Money shun. Instead of hanging his head in defeat, YCS Money found inspiration in what was a daunting reality. He purposed in himself to become even more dedicated to his music career and began delving into harder trap styles of rap music.
Musical influences like Tee Grizzley, Lil Yachty, Mac Miller, Tyler the Creator, Lil Wayne, and Eminem, continued to inspire and motivate YCS Money to never give up and keep improving his craft. YCS Money’s discipline to his career and passion for rap music and culture became more and more evident as he pushed to achieve his dreams. Sure enough, this drive and grind, landed him his first show in Ithaca NY, opening and performing with NICE ENT, the popular group out of Staten Island. YCS Money went on to rap alongside fellow artists $quidnice and BOBBYNICE. YCS Money’s music is bringing a new and energetic sound to hip-hop. Releases like “Whippet,” “Stok ft. Bobbynice,” and his newest hit release “$lobs” are sparking even more buzz about YCS Money’s lyrical abilities and creative artistry upon the mic.
YCS Money has brought himself back from what looked like the end. It is clear that his music holds purpose in this world and his career has a spot awaiting among the greats of hip-hop. YCS Money is not only a talented artist, but humble and appreciates what matters in life. He takes pride in being family and team oriented. His ambition isn’t driven by just materialism, but to be able to ensure that his family and homies are taken care of for life, for they were his support system when all seemed lost.
YCS Money is no doubt an artist that has a lot to give and a lot to gain in the rap game. Physical deformities, social isolation, and even dying was unable to stop YCS Money from his destined path. He’s worth following and listening to.
