Halle Bailey and DDG have introduced their son Halo to the public with photos from their family vacation in Italy. On July 3rd, The Little Mermaid star posted three images on Instagram with the caption “Halo’s first time in Italy.”
DDG also shared photos the same day, including a playful shot mimicking their child’s crying face and a group portrait. This sparked a debate in the comments section, with fans trying to determine who Halo resembles more between his parents. One comment with over 9,000 likes read “You want that baby to look like [you] so bad. That’s Halle’s twin.” Another fan, 2Rare, exclaimed “The reveal is here! Felt like we [were] waiting for [an] album.”
While the majority of reactions were positive, DDG addressed some of the more negative comments in a YouTube vlog. The “Moonwalking in Calabasas” rapper expressed frustration towards “poor, broke, dirty fat-back b**ches on Instagram” who made disparaging remarks about his son. He defended Halo, stating that at just 6 months old, the child has already traveled the world and lives a more successful life than the “broke, poor” critics.
DDG later clarified that his harsh words were not directed at all commenters, only the “people who [were] talking crazy about my son.” The rapper and Bailey secretly welcomed Halo in 2023, with Bailey later revealing the birth in January 2024 by sharing a photo of her holding the newborn’s hand.
