From father to sons, Elijah and Ernie are expanding the family legacy with their own style and sound.
Born Elijah and Ernest Mickey, the brothers from Cleveland, Ohio, came up within the music industry due to the connection of their father. Elijah and Ernest had the opportunity to understand and learn the music industry and how it works under the guidance of their father. Their music career can be attested to his influence and status as a DJ, Engineer, Recording Artist, and Song Writer among other talents. After opening his own music studio, Elijah and Ernest would find even greater passion for music among the artists they met and worked with. As their reputation began growing and refining their craft, they would adopt the stage names Elijah Akeem and Ernie August that reflects and embraces their family legacy and dedication to protecting it.
The brothers have been manifesting their come up and growing in popularity within the rap game. Moving throughout cities like Cleveland, NY, and ATL, they have been building their fanbase and expanding their reach in the industry. Their sound inspires dreams and motivates those with ambition to get up and go get theirs. Being two young men with daily lives keeping up the grind of their careers, they understand the struggles of building an empire while managing life. Their music is an expression of perseverance for success and has been a source of encouragement globally while still remaining hype and trendy. Their versatility is showcased over heavy 808’s and lyrical abilities that resonate within those that lack the resolve to be outspoken with their thoughts and goals.
Since their journey to stardom, Elijah and Ernie has worked with big names in the industry. Ernie has made music with Moneybagg Yo’s producer “DrumGod” and has gained numerous producer placements, even landing one with Future’s Rap artist “Doe Boy.” Elijah on the other end has had his music played in studio sessions of major artists like Meek Mill and Diddy and has also landed placements with lyrical NY geniuses Oun P and Papoose. The two brothers have been on a steady incline and aims to cement their status with the release of their 6 track EP, “The Storm Is Not Over.” The EP puts the creativity and artistry of Elijah Akeem and Ernie August on full display for the world to connect with and enjoy. With the exception of the Intro’s hook, the entire project was produced and written by the duo.
