Stepping outside of the normal imitated sound, Topher is using his God-given talent to create music that inspires.
Mississippi rapper Topher grew up in the town of Kilmichael, the same as the late legend B.B. King. After serving for 6 years in the United States Air Force as a cryptologic language analyst, he relocated to Philadelphia, MS where his music career prospered. Influenced by skilled lyricists such as Eminem with his delivery and vulnerability to use his life experiences and trauma for his art, Topher was inspired to be just as prolific a rapper.
With 20 years of music now under his career, he has earned accolades that span from charting on Billboard 23 times and being rated as one of the top 5 best rappers out of Mississippi. This is in part due to his mantra for life, Proverbs 18:16 which states, “your gift will make room for you and bring you before great men.” Topher has taken his lyrical gift and is using it to create music with a purpose rather than simply financial gain.
Recently, he released his new single, “Pray For Me” featuring Mjhanks which encourages unity. Viewing the world overcoming the boundaries of race, religion, and social status to collectively pray for the recent health scare of NFL baller, Damar Hamlin, Topher was reminded of the kindness still living within humanity.
Topher has overcome his Cluttering speech impediment, he’s stood before the major label machine as an independent artist and built a strong following and career, he’s pushed forward even when his song “The Patriot” was banned on select platforms for his political affiliations with then President Donald Trump, but Topher is till standing and rising to the top. He continues to succeed because his aim is to leave a legacy that shines as a symbol of limitless possibility. He’s a reminder that with God in your life, the past doesn’t define your future.
