Some artists follow, and some lead, but Ravo has created a world of his own that’s steadily growing in popularity.
San Francisco, CA, born and raised, Los Angeles living, Eric Ravo is a creative whose list of talents and accomplishments extend beyond most in the music industry. His takeoff to success began with his love for filmmaking. While being a student at UC Davis, his career in the film industry began taking root. He landed various internships at Warner Bros. Records in the International Marketing department, DreamWorks Animation and Nickelodeon Animation. This was not only a huge accomplishment, but evidence of his expertise as a creative.
Eric would go on to cultivate and perfect his craft in photography, writing, and animation, becoming a familiar name in the film industry. His work has been a product of praise on projects such as Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Rugrats, Penguins of Madagascar, and his own cartoon with Nickelodeon titled, “The Outsiders.” He is also one of the masterminds behind Google’s Self Driving Car Project, Waymo and the author of renowned book, “How to Get An Animation Internship.” As his status in the world of film grew, Eric would co-found the entertainment studio Bravo Bros. Studio.
Eric continued to blaze a trail forward, but his creativity craved more than it currently found pleasure in. This led to him moving to Los Angeles in 2017 to add music to his wide skillset. His passion for music was influenced and inspired by the legendary group Gorillaz. He would make the decision to combine his love for music and animation to create the virtual musician, RAVO. Ravo is a manifestation of his creativity into that of an author, photographer, travel blogger, and musician. Ravo continued working on his musical craft, after which he went on to release his first single in 2019 titled, “Find Me” featuring Ymtk and Canada’s own Yung Tory, with production from monster producer Mantra Beats.
Ravo’s music continued to flourish, following up with the release of his album “Need to Know.” The album features popular artists like Mick Jenkins and Casey Veggies, Dizzy Wright and Bay Area legends Mistah F.A.B., Nef The Pharaoh, & Keak Da Sneak. The album’s setting is based in a futuristic Tokyo world where a virtual Ravo is on a mission to recover his memories. Each song aids in painting this narrative, and the album will be accompanied with an animated short by the end of the year.
Ravo, who has been overseeing projects in the film industry since the age of 24, is following in DJ Khaled’s footsteps and executive producing most of the songs on the album. With a debut on the Billboard “Top Current Album Sales” chart at #91, the album continues to do numbers and give credibility to Ravo’s transition and place in music.
