Old Man Brandon was knocking at hell’s door, before God found him in the flames and his life experienced a rebirth.
Brandon Jones of Elgin, Illinois came from a beautiful home with a mother that loved him dearly and an aunt that never downplayed his potential. However, he also experienced an extensive amount of trauma, from being bullied and abused by his drug addicted stepdad, to a downward spiral after moving to Florida as a teen. He was expelled from school after being found with a concealed weapon, barely dodging a 7-year prison sentence. Being shot at, suffering a broken jaw, and being involved with violent company, his woes only got worse.
Music became his world away from the downs in his life. It created a lucrative career for the rapper, building him a wide fanbase, gaining him lead film roles, and collaborating with legends like Chino XL, Mac Lethal, Canibus, and Brotha Lynch among others. This lifestyle was left in the past when God saved him from the path of destruction he was travelling. From then forward, he adopted his new stage name, Old Man Brandon, creating gritty and truthful music that’s both therapeutic for himself and his audience.
Suffering a broken back in 2019, Old Man Brandon overcame all odds by the grace of God to release his new album, “Lost” featuring Michaela Paladio. The new project depicts vividly his life over the past two years on a personal level, detailing his girlfriend’s cancer, drug addiction and mental health issues. “Lost” is a testimony of his life story in hopes of uplifting those with a tarnished past. Recorded at Clear Track Studios, Mixed & Mastered by Taylor Whitney, and produced by Mad Real, Tunna, and Impala Drummerz, “Lost” is a beautiful start from an enlightening end.
