Rarely do you come across a talent like this! C.h.a.m.p (Baby Debo) is the artist name of Mesquite, Texas rapper Nate Miller. He is a force to be reckoned with. The name C.H.A.M.P is an acronym for “change happens at my pace.” The motivation in his name corresponds to his uplifting yet energetic and exciting music.
C.h.a.m.p began making music in June of 2021, and to many surprise, is gaining a massive fan base and getting thousands of streams in only 2 months of being an artist! His song Baby Debo from his Yolo EP is his most streamed track with over 100,000 streams/views over all platforms. C.h.a.m.p primarily maintains a smooth laid back delivery over funky beats and produces clever bars. That is what makes him a standout artist! It is exciting to see what Baby Debo has in store for his fans in the future.
His album Therapy is set to be released in November of 2021, and is supposed to capture the recollection of C.h.a.m.p’s entire upbringing from his birth past his fatal shooting in 2019, which would ultimately lead him to expressing his pain through song. As of now, C.h.a.m.p has released 2 EPs (Paper Route and YOLO) totaling 12 songs. Paper Route ishis first EP. It is straight fire! A great introduction into the rap game. “YOLO” contains reflective songs, party raisers, and clever bars throughout. It’s also hard to tell if C.h.a.m.p is even breathing as he’s literally spitting rhymes around 90% of the time in these songs.
This is also where C.h.a.m.p picks up his nickname Baby Debo, as this is the title of his second track. Although essentially having a new school rap style, C.h.a.m.p also shows hints of old school style, especially through his lyrics real life details. C.h.a.m.p’s sound is as real and raw as it gets. The unstoppable force this up-and-comer displays will secure him a spot at the top before we know it.
