It’s rare you get to hear hip-hop legends hop on one track together—let alone on a love song. Despite the track’s old school vibe and hard-hitting music, the lyrics showcase these hip hop icons rapping about the joy of being in love—as Jadakiss says, “we can have sex any time, sure/I wanna do a little more building/hopefully you feel the same way, Lord willing.” To complement the dynamic track, the music video shows the artists traveling through outer space on a flying Greek warship heading towards Earth. This combination of futuristic elements with Ancient Greek imagery pays homage to Alexi’s Greek heritage, and it plays like the telling of a modern day Greek myth—musical gods (Alexi, Jadakiss, T3, and M11SON) shooting through the galaxy to save the world through music.
The song and video are the latest releases from Alexi’s highly anticipated album by the same name (“Love Odyssey”), due out later this year. The album is a nostalgic collection of R&B love songs designed to transport listeners to a world of endless romanticism with heavy grooves and catchy melodies that reflect the joy of being in love. In addition to musical legends Jadakiss and T3, the album also features appearances by Grammy Award winner Chrisette Michele, Amina Buddafly, Natalie Stewart (Floetry), and more. The next single, “Distract Me” (ft. Chrisette Michele), will be out next month, so stay up to date with all of Alexi’s releases—follow him on IG at @alexiparaschos, or check out www.alexiparaschos.com.
